Nicoll has been a resident of Sierra County since 2010, when she retired from a 22-year career as a research physiologist at the University of California at Los Angeles. Born in Illinois, she earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Kentucky State University and her doctorate in biochemistry from Purdue University. Nicoll is the coauthor of more than 50 scientific publications.
